Cosmetic Acupuncture ~ The Natural Botox

Cosmetic Acupuncture - A chemical free, Natural Alternative to Botox

Our skin has never been under such pressure as it combats the daily stresses of a modern day life. When we talk about ageing naturally, a 360 approach to our skin is vital. Our external skin quality is driven by our internal health. You can apply the best and most expensive skincare on your face but if you are stressed, not sleeping, eating badly or have a hormonal imbalance - it’s just not going to work. A really good approach to your skin is starting from the inside and work your way out.

Cosmetic Acupuncture, also known as Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, involves superficially placing very fine, sterile specialist needles into acupuncture points on the face to increase blood circulation to the area, thereby increasing oxygen and vitamin nourishment to the tissues and stimulating collagen.

Both co-founders trained with renowned Amanda Shayle of Acuregen, London, learning the latest specialised techniques. This advanced signature cosmetic acupuncture is an inspirational treatment that integrates Chinese medical wisdom with western scientific interventions. Constitutional acupuncture will always form part of the treatments to address any imbalances effecting the skin.

Much like when you fall down and cut your skin, your body has a natural healing process that causes the production of new tissue — and the same works with acupuncture. Once internal causes that affect skins ageing are assessed, facial cosmetic acupuncture (painless insertion of specialised tiny needles on the face and body) focuses on rejuvenating, re-energising and addressing all signs of skin concerns by stimulating, repairing and renewing skin mechanisms from within the dermis – middle part of skin, resulting in a noticeably invigorated and youthful skin.

The process accelerates a cascade of crucial healing triggers which facilitates increased micro-circulation and oxygen supply to the skin as well as encouraging skin’s own soothing agents. The process promotes detoxification and encourages production of newer and stronger collagen and elastin fibres resulting in improved firmness, elasticity, reduced fine lines, regeneration, healthier complexion and texture, delivering lasting anti-ageing accumulative results.

These punctures stimulate your lymphatic and circulatory system, which work together to deliver nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells, nourishing skin from the inside out. This helps even out your complexion and promote your skin’s glow. The positive microtraumas also stimulates the production of collagen. This helps improve elasticity, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.

Your treatment will start with a pre appointment medical questionnaire, so the practitioner can ensure the treatment is appropriate for you. Once you arrive to clinic, we will start with a TCM intake evaluation that looks at all aspects of your life from your digestion, menstruation, sleep, energy and diet to understand your current state of wellness, and how your internal health might be reflected in your face with certain chronic expressions, puffiness, wrinkles and acne. With that information, a treatment plan is created.

Once your skin has been double cleansed, a number of very fine, sterile specialist needles will be placed in specific locations around your face. A specialised peptide infused mask is then placed over the intra-dermal needles for maximum penetration. Product placement during cosmetic acupuncture is crucial as the absorption rate is very high because we are essentially opening the skin. All products used within the Escapada clinics are natural, paraben and SLS free. This is vital research if you choose to go and get cosmetic acupuncture - ensure the products they are using are of the highest standard.

Constitutional acupuncture will always be used as part of our treatments to address any underlying imbalances that will impact the skin. We also use micro needling, a collagen induction treatment as part of the treatment plan.

It depends on each person, their lifestyle and their initial stage of health and balance. "Most cosmetic acupuncture treatments are meant to be taken in a series, generally in a group of ten, as the effects of acupuncture are cumulative."

Monthly maintenance treatments are required to keep up the good work. "Some clients will come every other month — especially if they are in their 20s and 30s and looking to maintain their skin, as opposed to reverse aging”. The effects of cosmetic acupuncture can last for years if maintenance appointments are kept.

The most common side effect may be minimal bruising but this generally goes within a week. The client can experience some redness from the needle stimulation but the down time with cosmetic acupuncture is minimal.
